Pakistan Railways has rolled out its summer 2026 timetable, with additional air-conditioned coaches attached to several of the busiest main-line expresses and revised timings designed around peak-season travel patterns. Summer is one of the two highest-demand periods of the year for the railway, alongside the Eid holidays, as families travel for weddings, holidays, and to escape the heat.
The additional AC capacity targets the corridors where demand is heaviest — principally the Karachi–Lahore–Rawalpindi main line served by flagship trains such as the Green Line, Tezgam, and Karakoram Express.
More Air-Conditioned Seats Where They Matter
With daytime temperatures across much of the country climbing well above 40°C in summer, air-conditioned classes sell out fastest during these months. By adding AC Business, AC Sleeper, and Economy AC coaches to the highest-demand expresses, the railway is directly addressing the classes that book out first.
Coach counts on premium trains had already been increased earlier in 2026 to absorb record demand, and the summer additions build on that expansion. Passengers are still advised to book air-conditioned classes well in advance, as availability tightens sharply as departure dates approach.
Adjusted Timings for the Season
Alongside extra coaches, some services have had departure and arrival times adjusted for the summer schedule. Travellers who ride the same train regularly should double-check current timings rather than relying on memory, as even a 30-minute shift can affect connections and pick-up plans.
Fares for the additional AC capacity remain at standard published rates for each class, so passengers gain comfort without a peak-season surcharge on the base ticket.
Check the Current Schedule and Track Live
Because summer timings differ from the regular schedule, always confirm your train’s current departure time before travelling — and once you are on the move, follow your train’s live GPS position and running status on TrainTracking.pk to know exactly when it will reach each station.
